On the occasion of the celebration of the Occupational Health & Safety Word Day, on 28th April, Gonvarri Steel Services (GSS) launched an initiative to all its plants, in order to encourage a real preventive culture in every level in the organization, under the slogan “Join us in building a preventive culture in Occupational Health and Safety“. From today until April 28th begins a competition between different plants GSS, which will be able to upload in LTC Group Gonvarri: OH&S World Day different pictures that represent one of the 10 commandments of Health and Safety and another two categories created for the office staff. The plant with the highest number of pictures uploaded will receive a diploma and there will be a prize for the most voted picture of each category. GRI Renewable Industries has carried out a communication campaign in all its productive plants around the world to raise awareness on safety. Coinciding with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28th, GRI launched its campaign Be safe!, centered in the active role that all the employees have to play to achieve the safety levels required by the company. Also, this campaign is useful to communicate the principles of the new Politic of Safety and Health at Work in GRI. This campaign has been developed during active meeting in all the plants and it has been used off and on-line material, in 8 different languages. Gonvarri Steel Services & Gestamp Renewables has won the IV Award for Best HR Practice for its project “Leading the Change”. Last Friday, November 7th, Pablo Gonzalez de Suso, Director of HR & OHS, received the award from José María López, Director of Cedered, during the VII Congress of HR Directors held in Valladolid. The Noblesfontein Wind farm has been successfully developed and became operational in July 2014 Gestamp Group opened the biggest wind tower factory in Africa in Atlantis on the 5th of November 2014 Gestamp Wind is participating in Round 4 of the REIPP programme with a further wind project. (Madrid, 6 th November, 2014) Dionisio Fernandez, CEO of Gestamp Wind said “We have strong confidence in the South African REIPP programme despite temporary delays in the Round 3 closing and the announcement of Round 4 . The group is continuing with its projects and investments in South Africa by opening the biggest wind tower factory on the African continent this month”. Gestamp Wind is the only integrated player that is supplying both wind energy and industrial manufacturing components to South Africa, testament to its long term confidence and commitment to the REIPP programme in South Africa.
