The report gathers the most relevant information of 2014, from a triple aspect: – Performance. Information about the company, its organization and how does it understand sustainability. – People. Information about the best work practices, how it is boost the talent or realized a monitoring on safety and health areas. – Planet. Gestamp Biomass contribution in those places where it carries out its activity through the social action and its relationship with administrations and local communities; taking into account all the related to the environment management and the company’s contribution in the mitigation of climate change. FIRST SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2014 In 2014, three new projects, two in South Africa and one in Puerto Rico, with a total of 36.7 MW have been completed. In 2015, the company will reinforce its activity in Japan, and will expand its business into new markets such as Central America and Middle East, with four projects totaling 108.4 MW. Gestamp Solar, the photovoltaic solar energy division of Gestamp Renewables, has been the European photovoltaic developer that connects a project in Japan, one of the strategic objectives for 2015, according to the first Sustainability Report published by the company. The company has a set of 55 solar farms in operation in 2014 in Spain, Peru, Puerto Rico, USA, Italy, France and South Africa, including both own and managed for third parties. Its priority is to continue growing in a sustainable and profitable manner. In 2014, the company began the construction of four new projects, one in Honduras, one in Kuwait and two in Japan, one of which is the Fukuroda plant in Japan, connected in early 2015. The innovative project “Kishoa” in Mexico is emphasized among the activities of the past year. This projects allows, thanks to an innovative software, a simple analysis to assess the profitability of installing photovoltaic power generation systems in homes and small businesses. II SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2014 In 2014 Noblesfontein, its first wind farm in South Africa, with an installed capacity of 73.8 MW, which represents an investment of over 120 million euros, started operating. The company is building 17 wind farms in Poland, Belgium, Brazil, Turkey and Mexico. Madrid, May 12, 2015. Gestamp Wind, wind power subsidiary of Gestamp Renewables, has avoided the emission of more than 464,000 tons of CO2, thanks to its more than 540MW of clean energy installed. Counting on the new wind farms that have come into operation in 2015, the company, specialized in the development, construction and operation of wind farms, has reached a total of 650 MW, according to its second Sustainability Report. The environment is a strategic factor and therefore the company considers the environmental impact of its wind farms at all stages: from planning, design, construction, and operation to decommissioning. The Noblesfontein Wind farm has been successfully developed and became operational in July 2014 Gestamp Group opened the biggest wind tower factory in Africa in Atlantis on the 5th of November 2014 Gestamp Wind is participating in Round 4 of the REIPP programme with a further wind project. (Madrid, 6 th November, 2014) Dionisio Fernandez, CEO of Gestamp Wind said “We have strong confidence in the South African REIPP programme despite temporary delays in the Round 3 closing and the announcement of Round 4 . The group is continuing with its projects and investments in South Africa by opening the biggest wind tower factory on the African continent this month”. Gonvarri Steel Services Península Ibérica (GSS Spain and Portugal), leader in the Spanish and Portuguese sector of steel service centers has launched its first Sustainability Report (for the 2013 financial year). The information in this report complies with the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative for its A+ application level and it has been externally reviewed by an independent auditing firm. GSS Spain and Portugal contributes to the creation of wealth in local communities. During 2013, GSS has generated a distributed economic value of 1,270 million euros and the creation of local employment, among others. In relation to employment in GSS Spain and Portugal, the great stability of its staff (96% of the 1,188 workers have a permanent contract) and the good results in health and safety matters at its facilities must be highlighted. Since 2006, the company has reduced the number of accidents with medical leave by 83.3% and by 82% for absenteeism due to accidents at work.
